Meet Brandon Hammé, a pivotal figure in the Jewish community football scene. With the longest continuous tenure as manager in the Maccabi GB Southern Football League, Brandon's journey began when he founded the Mill Hill Dons at the age of 21 in 2016. Born on October 20, 1994, in Glasgow, Brandon's passion for football ignited at a young age. Growing up amidst family friends like David Robertson, the left back at Rangers at the time, and memorable encounters with football legends like Paul Gascoigne, Brandon's love for the game was deeply rooted.
Before leading the Mill Hill Dons, Brandon's involvement in community football was already evident. Taking over Tottenham Chutspah midway through the 2012/13 MGBSFL season and coaching at Maccabi London Summer Camps showcased his dedication. In 2018, Brandon became the youngest member of the MGBSFL committee, earning recognition as Secretary of the Year and pioneering a new role of 'Head of Social Media.'
Recognising the power of social media in attracting teams and raising awareness, Brandon spearheaded a online presence for the league. During his inaugural season in the role, the league experienced its most substantial influx of new teams in over a decade. With the social media presence, came a meaningful partnership with charity FD-UK, shedding light on Familial dysautonomia. Through planning and collaboration with videographers, Brandon attempts to provide equal coverage of each MGBSFL team throughout a season.
Brandon's creative talents extended to filmmaking with the release of the docuseries 'Up The Dons' on the Mill Hill Dons' YouTube channel. The documentary offered a look into the inner workings of the MGBSFL, earning the Dons the Social Media Team of the Award.
In May 2022, Brandon embarked on a new chapter as the Marketing and Communications Manager at Maccabi GB, showcasing his skills during the 22nd Maccabiah Games in Israel. His captivating storytelling on Instagram and Facebook elevated Maccabi GB's social media presence, leading to a 30% increase in Instagram followers.
Last Sunday Brandon marked his 150th competitive game with the Mill Hill Dons, yet his proudest achievement remains the club's resilience. Despite challenges, the Dons have never forfeited a game—a testament to Brandon's leadership and unwavering dedication. Sunday's milestone embodies Brandon Hammé's indelible impact on Jewish community football. Brandon hopes to continue helping towards the progression of the Maccabi GB Southern Football League in the years to come.
