A new season with a new manager for Hapoel Hyde Park, as Eytan Millan has replaced Jasper Van Veen as the man in charge following a great season that unfortunately, failed to end in promotion back to the first division.
Despite a lack of coaching experience , Eytan Millan played a key role in Van Veen’s team, and has played in many different teams at high levels, which have given him the necessary experience. Millan believes in his players and thinks they have what it takes to win the league, saying “ The team cohesion has always been strong and we are looking to maintain that this season.”

Millan and the team’s goal for this season is simple: to win the league. “ We want to play through the middle due to the technical ability our midfielders have.”
Hapoel began their previous campaign with five wins in a row and are hoping to go one step further this season, minimizing negative results.
“The new experience of being a manager is very exciting.” Millan said after being asked his thoughts on his new role. The upcoming Jsoc charity matches and the chance to win silverware with Hapoel will thrill him in this coming season.
Millan has recently been in touch with his former manager and close friend, Jasper Van Veen. Having been very close to each other whilst at the club , Eytan has learnt a lot from his predecessor and there are many similarities between the two , but also many differences which will make it a tough change for the players.
Last season, Hapoel Hyde Park had the opportunity to win the league but fell short on the final day. On Wednesday they take on Arabsoc. Despite it being a big game , Millan has said “No matter the opponent , the first game is always vital to start on a positive note , as it sets the tone for the remainder.”
Setting up in a formation knowing they needed to score a lot of goals did not help Hapoel as it quickly put them under pressure and gave Arabsoc the control of the game. “ This time it's our first game of the season , so we won't be setting up like that. With our regular formation I believe we can beat any team.”
